A Colorful, Textured Throw Blanket

Crochet blankets are a fun way to add texture and color to your living room. Whether you’re looking for an easy beginner project or something more advanced, there’s a crochet blanket out there that will suit your needs.

Choose the right yarn

When you’re deciding on the type of yarn to use, it’s important to keep in mind what kind of look you want for your blanket. Do you want something colorful and textured? Or perhaps something thin and cuddly?

That choice will depend on whether you choose acrylic or wool yarns, which have different thicknesses and textures. For example, acrylic is great for beginners as it’s easier on their hands than wool (but may not last as long).

Wool is made from animal fur rather than synthetic fibers like acrylic so it will feel softer against your skin but if those animal products aren’t within your budget range then go ahead with whatever feels best.

A Floor Pouf

If you want to make a pouf, you can use anything. You can rip up an old sweater or cut up a bunch of t-shirts and make one out of them. You could also just crochet a square, which is what we did for this project.

This pattern is similar to the blanket pattern above in that it uses the same technique- crocheting over chains to create texture- but here we’re using only three colors: black (for the base), gold (for the stripes), and white (for everything else).

Starting at one corner:

  • Ch 29, sl st into first ch to make ring; ch 1, hdc around; join w/ sl st in beginning hdc made. (28 hdc)
  • Ch 2; sk next 2 sts; *FPtr around next st; BPhdc around next st* 4 times total; repeat from * across until last 3 sts on row are left unworked before joining with sl st in top of turning chain from previous round.; Fasten off & weave in ends.*18 sets of FPtr & BPhdc stitches now completed
  • Now working along side of first round: Sl St into each First Stitch Place On Side Of Round To Make A New Set Of 18 Sets Of FPtr & BPhdcs

An Amigurumi Elephant

A simple elephant is a great way to add color and texture to your home. You can make an amigurumi (crocheted toy) elephant, or you could use the same pattern for an adult-size pillow. If you’re looking for something even larger, this design will work perfectly as a blanket.

What you’ll need:

  • A worsted-weight yarn in gray, white (or any other color of your choice), and black
  • Size H crochet hook
  • Straight pins or scrap yarn (to mark rounds)
  • Yarn needle

Start by making the body. Make sure that it’s stuffed firmly with polyfill before proceeding to round 2.

The legs are worked in rounds 1-9, but be sure not to break off your yarn until after round 9 is completed; this way everyone can crochet their leg at the same time without fear they’ll run out of yarn halfway through.

When working on legs 8-9, begin stuffing each leg evenly before continuing onto Rnd 10 you’ll have plenty of time to do so after completing these rows because there isn’t much else going on until we get back around again later on down here 😉

Crocheted storage baskets are a great way to add both color and texture to your home. Make them in different sizes and use different types of stitches, such as bobble stitch or shell stitch (for a more detailed look at these two stitches, check out our blog post on how to crochet bobble stitch). Experiment with different colors and yarn weights to see what effect you get.

Tassels For Curtains Or Pillows

Tassels are a great way to add texture and color to your home. They’re simple to make, can be used on curtains or pillows, and look fantastic in any room.

To make a tassel, you will need:

  • Cotton yarn of any color (If you want your tassel to be thicker than the one in the photo above)
  • A large needle (I used US size 11)

Granny squares are a traditional crochet pattern that can be used to make unique and colorful designs for your home decor. A Cute Egg Cozy For Spring

This cozy pattern is a great starting point for working with colors. A worsted weight yarn makes this project feel like an easy weekend knit, and you can use any colors that you like.

You don’t have to be limited by the suggestions in the pattern you can make your own unique color combinations by choosing from your stash or even by running out to the nearest craft store and shopping for new materials (if you’re feeling brave).

It also includes instructions for adding embellishments or decorative elements like buttons and beads, so if you have some extra time on your hands, this project is a fun way of experimenting with texture and color.

As an added bonus: this cozy will fit most large eggs (with room left over), so if you buy one of those plastic cartons of eggs at Easter time instead of individual cartons of egg salad sandwiches, they won’t get crushed when they’re stored in their new home away from home.

Long, Tasseled Garland For Your Walls

You will need a needle that is large enough to fit through the holes in your crochet piece.

To make tassels, cut 12 pieces of yarn at least 3 feet long each, then fold them in half and tie them together on one end with another piece of yarn about 18 inches long (this will be used as an extra piece to hang your garland). If you want longer or shorter tassels, just adjust this length accordingly.

Thread the needle onto each end of two different colors at once and bring those threads through both loops of one double crochet stitch (this will help ensure they stay together while you’re working).

Then pull gently on each thread until it forms a tight knot at its base; this is what will give you those lovely fringe ends later on.

Repeat step 3 until all double crochets have been covered–do not cut yarn until complete! Once finished with first set of threads (blue), repeat process again with second set (green), being sure not to tie off any ends yet since more work needs done before we’re ready for hanging.

Here comes tricky part: now comes time when many people might get frustrated because how do I know how long my garland should be? Well there are two options here:

Option 1 – measure out how much space you want between each individual strand so that none overlap or touch each other; Option 2 – measure out distance from bottom corner up towards top corner vertically along wall where desired place would go.”

Broomstick lace crochet is a unique and elegant technique that can be used to create beautiful and stylish home decor pieces. Check out our guide on The Art of Broomstick Lace Crochet to learn how to create your own one-of-a-kind home decor items using this beautiful crochet technique.

A Knit-Look Wreath For The Fall Season

What you’ll need:

  • Wool roving, 1/2 oz./per color (you can also use wool yarn)
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • A foam wreath form (or you can use a Styrofoam ring or even make your own)

What to do:

  • Cut off three pieces of yarn for each color you want to use; I cut mine about 12 inches long for each piece. Weave them through the center of the wreath form so that they are all connected at one end and then tie them off on top of the wreath.

2. Repeat step 1 with your second set of colors, leaving enough space between them so that there’s room for more yarns to be added later on down the line.

3. Continue weaving in new colors until your entire project is filled out! Finish by tying off any loose ends along with any remaining ones from when we started out making this knit look scarf earlier today 🙂

4. Hang up in any place where someone would normally hang up their hats such as near doorways entranceways pantry cupboards inside closets bedrooms hallways staircases etcetera ad infinitum!

A Map Of Your Town Or State (Or Any Other Place You Love).

You’ll need: [map of your town or state]

You can get these online at places like Amazon, or Etsy, or you can print one off the internet. The easiest way to display a map is to buy some kind of frame and mount it on the wall (you can use command strips).

You want something that will be easy for you to take down and put back up when you’re ready to move it around because we all know how hard it is to make a decision on where exactly we want our maps displayed!

A Cacti That Never Needs Watering

You might think a cactus is tough to grow, but it’s actually pretty easy. After all, they don’t die in the winter and they never need watering! Just use this pattern to crochet your own cactus of any size or color.

To make one like this one pictured above, you’ll need:

  • yarn in green and brown tones (or whatever colors you want your cactus to be!)
  • an H hook (5mm)
  • scissors (optional)

Now that you have everything in front of you… let’s get started! First, off we’re going to start with making our stitches at the top of the cacti so we can work downward towards its base.

We’ll be working into both loops for each stitch except where I’ve written otherwise below: Row 1 – Chain 5, then SC into the first chain from hook and continue all other SCs across row until the end; Ch 1, turn; Row 2 – SC across all stitches from previous row including chain stitches from previous row; Then repeat rows 1-2 until desired height has been reached;

Then begin by crocheting around the stem area (this part will vary depending on how large/small and short/long the stem area is).

Cozy Slippers That Can Be Worn Year Round

If you’re looking for a way to add color and texture to your home, crochet is the way to go. The best part about crochet is that it’s easy to learn and can be used for so many different projects. And if you’re thinking about making some cozy slippers, there are tons of free patterns out there for you.

The first thing to consider is what kind of slipper pattern you want. Do you want something that goes on over your shoes? Or do you want something more like a bootie that goes under your heels?

The pattern should also be in a size close enough to yours so that when they do fit perfectly they won’t be too tight or too loose around the heel area (if possible). When choosing yarns, make sure the thickness matches up with what the designer intended.

The thicker the yarn, usually means more stitches per inch which is why some designers will recommend using smaller hook sizes than others who use thinner yarns like cotton or acrylic blends which require fewer stitches per inch than wool blends would require with hooks sizes 5mm (H) or greater

Miracle Pillows That Will Change Your Life As You Know It

Miracle pillows can be made with any yarn or thread, in any size, and in any shape. They’re the perfect way to add color and texture to your home no matter what your skill level is.

You can make one with just one skein of yarn and a pair of 13mm needles (US15), but they look great when they’re bigger too: double your yarn amount if you want a bigger pillow cover, or use thicker needles for a chunkier result. Just be sure to pick up more than enough yarn: it doesn’t take much weight at all before your fabric starts stretching out of shape!

Conclusion

There are so many options out there when it comes to color and texture. You don’t have to stick with just one if you want your home to be interesting. Try different combinations and see what you enjoy the most.
