Takeaways
Crocheting toys is a fun and rewarding way to use your crochet skills.
Crochet toys are great gifts for children, especially as they encourage imaginative play.
You can find a variety of free and paid crochet toy patterns online, both for beginners and advanced crocheters.
Crochet toys can be customized with different colors and decorations to make each toy unique.
A soft and durable yarn, such as cotton, wool or acrylic, is recommended for making crochet toys.

Owl

Owls are a popular toy for children. They’re easy to crochet and fun to make, and you can make them any size, color, or shape you’d like. If you use the right yarns, they’ll be soft enough that your child won’t mind snuggling up with their new owl friend at night.

The most important thing when crocheting an owl is keeping track of where each piece goes! You’ll want to make sure everything is lined up properly so there are no gaps or loose ends hiding under flaps; this will help ensure that all parts fit together snugly when the time comes for assembly.

Amigurumi crochet can be a magical and rewarding experience for both beginners and experienced crocheters alike. Learn how to create your own cute and cuddly toys with our guide on Discovering the magic of Amigurumi crochet.

Pancake Buddy

To make a Pancake Buddy, you’ll need:

A red washcloth or square of fabric. It can be any size, but make sure that it’s at least large enough to cover your child’s head. This can also be used as a scarf for little ones who are learning to walk.

A small piece of white felt (approximately 3 inches by 3 inches). You can use regular white craft felt or use iron-on interfacing instead if you want to stitch the face directly on top of the fabric. Iron-on interfacing is much sturdier than regular craft felt and will not tear like regular felt does when handled frequently by little hands!

Embroidery floss in two colors: blue and brown (for example)

A needle for sewing with embroidery floss or threading needles with thick thread; either one will work fine so long as there aren’t any frays in them from being used too much already

Toadstool Plush Amigurumi

Toadstool Plush Amigurumi is a fun and easy pattern that will be a hit with kids of all ages.

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed dolls. The word comes from the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted and nuigurumi which means stuffed doll.

The word was coined in the 1980s when these cute little toys became popular among children and adults alike.

Toadstool Plush Amigurumi is one of my favorite patterns because it’s so versatile! You can use it to make just about any type of mushroom or toadstool you want.

I love how each one looks unique, which makes them great for using in imaginative play scenarios like dressing up as an enchanted forest fairy with her very own magic mushrooms!

Crochet Hat Patterns for Children

When the weather starts to turn cold, it’s important to keep your little ones’ heads warm. Crocheting a hat is a great way to do this and also help expand their imaginations at the same time.

They can make all kinds of hats for themselves and others, making each one unique in its own way. A crocheted hat can fit newborns right up until adults—and even beyond!

You’ll need lots of different types of yarns to make sure that every person has their preference covered:

Wool: This type is soft yet durable; it’s perfect for keeping babies comfy through wintertime (or any other season). It can be brushed regularly without worry about damaging the fibers too much; just remember that when washing wool sweaters, always dry them flat so they don’t shrink too much during drying time or become misshapen over time due to exposure to heat.

You could also add some acrylic blends if you want something lighter than pure wool would be; these blends will also help if one day your child wants some fun colors but doesn’t necessarily want something as heavy-duty as 100% natural fiber might provide!

Bunny

Materials:

  • G hook
  • cotton yarn of your choice, preferably white or cream

Directions:

  • Use a magic loop and make 6 single crochets in the ring.
  • Chain 1, then repeat step 1 until you have 5 stitches in each row (total of 30 single crochets).

Slip stitch into first stitch to join rows together, then continue making one more row of 30 single crochets using the same technique from step 2 above before cutting off and fastening off your yarn when finished with the last stitch in that round’s pattern instructions.

Use this circle template to cut out four circles from felt or fabric pieces large enough for eyes on each bunny doll you’re making; sew them onto place using sewing thread or needle and matching thread color if desired.

Button noses work best because they’re bigger than felt circles; however if you don’t have any buttons lying around at home use hot glue instead!

They’ll need something else though because they’re not very durable so be careful how much pressure is applied during playtime activities…

If you’re new to crochet, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Our guide on Crochet 101: the basics you need to know covers everything from the different types of hooks to the most basic stitches to get you started on your crochet journey.

Christmas Ornaments

A Christmas ornament is a great way to decorate your tree. They can be made out of almost any material, but here I will show you how to make one with crochet. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Worsted weight yarn in white and red
  • Size C Crochet Hook (2.75 mm)
  • Tapestry needle for sewing on the face and eyes

Let’s get started! To make the body of your crocheted Christmas ornament, ch 4. Then sc into each stitch until you have a total of 5 stitches on each side of your circle.

Once you’ve done this, join them together with a slip stitch and close up the hole at this point by working another row of single crochet around it so that there are no gaps left open anywhere along its circumference.

Now we’ll start making our snowman’s head! This part may seem complicated at first glance but once again it’s not as bad as it looks! Ch 3; then make two dc into next st; *ch 1; 2 dc into next st.* Repeat from *to

Crocheting a Teddy Bear

Crocheting your own teddy bear is easier than most people think—it just requires some patience and attention to detail.

This guide will provide detailed instructions for making a basic crochet style (bear) teddy bear including tips on how to make him look like he has real hair!

If you’ve never crocheted before this project will teach you how everything works so by the end of it all those pesky threads will become second nature & easy peasy lemon squeezy! Just don’t forget those scissors because this little guy isn’t going anywhere without them…

Rainbow Unicorn

Materials

Worsted weight yarn in the following colors: white, pink, blue, yellow, green, purple and orange. (I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice.)

Size H/8 5mm crochet hook

Tapestry needle to weave in ends/ sew pieces together/ embroider mane with black thread or yarn. I used embroidery thread for my pattern but you could also use an actual crochet hook for a thicker mane.

To make this pattern yourself you will need to know how to do basic stitches like: chain stitch (ch), double crochet (dc), slip stitch (sl st) and how to start with magic circle sts! I didn’t include tutorials here because there are so many free ones available on YouTube if you get stuck.

Alligators and Crocodiles

When you think of crocodiles and alligators, both are probably in your mind. The two species have nearly identical body structures, but there are some differences that may surprise you.

Alligators and crocodiles may look similar on the surface, but they do have some key differences that make them unique from one another.

The first difference is their location: while alligators live throughout North America today, crocodiles can only be found in parts of Florida and Louisiana.

The second difference is how they were brought into captivity: while alligators were domesticated long ago by hunters who wanted to sell their skins for profit (and later became pets), crocodiles never became domesticated because they didn’t have any use for humans before modern times.

Cupcake

Cupcake is a sweet treat that children love. It’s made from a small, round cake and topped with frosting and sprinkles. Cupcakes are popular desserts for birthday parties or special occasions.

You can crochet your own cupcake toy to give your child a fun way to play and pretend!

Circus Animals

The circus animals are a great toy pattern for children’s imaginations. They’re simple to make, using cotton yarn and a small hook. The crochet toy can be made in different colors, different sizes, and even different shapes!

To make this crochet pattern you will need:

  • 5mm hook (US H/8) or 4mm hook (US 7). You can also use a 3mm hook for smaller toys but it will make them tiny!
  • 100g of double knitting weight yarn – I used Rowan Kidsilk Haze from my stash here in the UK but any DK yarn will do. If you don’t have any DK weight lying around then try an acrylic worsted weight or wool blend instead. You could even use cotton if that’s what you’ve got lying around!
